ABOUT DR. PELT

Dr. Pelt shares her knowledge, insights, and experience with students, families, and school staff to plan for all aspects of life after high school: work, school, transportation, community living, friendships, and just plain living well!

Occupational Therapy
Dr. Pelt has 30 years of experience in public education as a classroom teacher, case manager, and instructional specialist. She has also supported a division-wide postsecondary transition program. Dr. Pelt has also taught special education courses as a collegiate adjunct professor.
Dr. Pelt holds a Ph.D. in Education with a concentration in Special Education and Disability Leadership. She possesses a teaching license with special education endorsements in learning and intellectual disabilities.
Her research interests include transition and inclusion. She also has an interest in supporting students with intellectual disability. Dr. Pelt's research has been published in books, journals, and blogs, and she has presented her findings at conferences for the American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (AAIDD). In addition to the AAIDD, Dr. Pelt is also a member of the Council for Exceptional Children which includes the Division on Career Development and Transition.
